Robots will soon be taking over another human job, this time at CaliBurger.
Robots have been a big part of several industries in the past couple of decades where they have taken over most of the work that was previously done manually by humans. Industrialists also prefer them to human because of their precision and their ability to do a similar task over and over most efficiently then their human counterpart.
Now they are going to try and take over another industry which has mostly been domniated by human, that industry is ‘Fast Food‘. This news comes as Flippy an AI-driven kitchen assistant that can flip burgers and place them on buns made its debut at a CaliBurger restaurant in Pasadena, California.
Flippy is developed by Miso Robotics alongwith CaliBurger’s owner, Cali Group. Flippy uses cameras, sensors and deep learning software in order to locate ingredients in a kitchen. Flippy can easily position and flip the patties, tracks their temperature and cooking time too. After the burgers are done, it alerts a human cook, who applies the cheese and other toppings.
David Zito, CEO of Miso Robotics said in a statement:
Much like self-driving vehicles, our system continuously learns from its experiences to improve over time.
So the next time you go to Caliburger and order Food, do remember that Flippy might have made it for you.
